Armor absorbtion confusion..
I first red this here: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Absorption
"Ascalon Armor and Knight's Armor reduce physical damage taken by 3. This effect is not global, and the damage reduction only applies to hits taken on area of the body covered by knights or ascalon armor." But then after talking to someone who said hes been playing for like 18months, he sais that Wiki was wrong and that the Ascalon Armor and Knight's Armor reduction IS actually global. I tried to search on this forum and seen some 1year old thread confirming what this person was saying but nothing too recent. So what is it, is wiki wrong and the reduction is global? Or was it changed recently and wiki is right? |

It used to be global but in an update not too long ago anet fixed that bug along with the -2 on shields and the absorbtion rune where they used to be against all damage now only vs physical

Oh and while we're on the subject, could you just confirm if superior rune of absorbtion stack with the knight armor? (even tho Im pretty sure it does, just want to remove all doubts from my mind ).

You still wasted 10 Plat on Knights armor though. :\ It is subpar armor even with the reduce now being 3. Other armors have higher AL which just pwns -3 dmg...
Remember even TEN more AL > -3 reduce |

You only need one sup absorb, any more than that is a waste of money and armor rune slots.
But each piece of knights/ascalon "increases" the chance of taking reduced physical damage(check guildwiki for % chance of being hit on a particular piece of your armor), since if youre hit where you aren't wearing any reduction armor, itll only be reduced by your other modifiers such as shield or rune. |

Don't worry about what some people say, in many situations damage reductions is better than higher armor.

Actually -3 damage reduction is equivilant to 10AL. On top of that, considering it's a solid damage reduction, damage isn't reduced by percentage. If you are being hit for physical damage of 3 at 100AL, bring it up to 110AL and you'll still be taking at least 1 damage. Damage reduction will cancel that out and you'll be hit for a bunch of 0's.
